Hello
I have recently finished polishing my car (Kyalami Black). This is the first time I have 'machine polished', using an electric RO (random orbital) polisher.
Beforehand, there were many very fine scratches ('swirls') in the paint; not too bad, but noticable in the sun or under fluorescent lights. After finishing the polishing, it is now virtually defect-free, and looks fabulous. It took many, many hours for my first time; probably a total of 15 hours. Hopefully I will not need to do it again for 12 months, and only add more wax until then.
Products I used were:
*Metabo SXE425 variable-speed random orbital buffing (sanding) machine
*Lake Country CCS 'white' polishing pad + 'grey' finishing pad
*Menzerna PO106FF polish (light 'cut' + high gloss finish), applied with RO + white pad; then MF (microfibre cloth) to buff off the residue
*Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax, applied with RO + grey pad; then MF
*Pinnacle Souveran paste wax, applied by hand using foam applicator-pad; then MF
Here are some photos:

*masking tape protecting areas not to be polished

*Menzerna polish applied to pad

*polish 'dabbed' onto paint ready for polishing
